Did the townspeople grow the food when the farmers left, both for us to eat and to send to the soldiers? What did the suffragists do during the war? And who were the farmerettes? Did we have them in Port Washington? [Spoiler Alert: Yes!]
We hope you were able to join a small group for 75 minutes on a docent-led tour that would have amazed and informed you, right here in scenic Port Washington, staged on the ground floor of the historic Sands-Willets House.
