Historic Walking Tours


Join a knowledgeable tour guide walking the shoreline while you see and hear the fascinating history of early Port Washington. Topics will include the livelihoods that helped Port develop into the town you know today, including shell fishing, sand mining, aviation, plus the tidal mills, the restaurants, the many hotels and much, much more.

No reservations necessary. Please bring exact amount: 

$8 adults / $5 seniors 65+ / $1 kids > 12. 

2019 Current Members: 1 free entry per membership

Your 1-mile walk will start at the Town Dock and end at the Port North Dock, opposite Stop & Shop.  Walkers may then walk the 1-mile back to the Town Dock, or arrange for someone to meet them in the Stop & Shop / Home Goods parking lot.  Shore Road has a crossing signal at the entrance to the shopping center, which makes crossing the road fairly simple.  [Map & directions here] [Weather cancellation policy found here.
