Port's Rich Local History

Port Washington, once known as Cow Neck, has an incredibly rich history.  Can you think of a dozen different subject that prove this point?  Here are just three:

  • Pan Am Clipper flying to Europe in the late1930s

  • Sand mining, to build Manhattan and beyond

  • The Great Gatsby house(s) and myths

Join Chris Bain, president of the Cow Neck Historical Society as he shows an curated collection of photographs from the 1880s to the 1960s. See at least a *dozen* reasons why local history is so fascinating!
